Wayne's 1953 Plymouth Cranbrook
This was my very first car which I bought at age 16. It had previously belonged to a friend of my father. This friend had planned to take the car to the junk yard, but I bought it instead. The man planned to junk the car for $25 but take out the radio before junking it. I NEEDED that AM radio and had to pay an extra $5 for the car driving the price up to $30. I bought two used front fenders at the junk yard for $7 each to replace the rusted out originals, repaired other rusted areas and repainted the car dark metallic blue. The car had come with Plymouth hubcaps on the back and '57 Cadillac hubcaps on the front. I removed all of the covers, painted the wheels black, and installed fake whitewalls (Port-A-Walls). The engine was worn out and the rods were knocking. I kept the car for only a few months.
